Coaching helps raise their awareness, challenge thinking and supports people on their journeys of transformation. Coaching creates deeper, more sustainable shifts in being. Far more so than training or mentoring.

I have been coaching leaders since 1999, when I was first trained to coach at senior levels within a Fortune 100 company. I have held the Professional Certified Coach designation of the International Coach Federation since 2011. I have worked with hundreds of leaders at senior and middle manager levels from all over the globe in English & Spanish. Most of my coaching work is done remotely via Skype, Zoom or telephone. I am certified to use a broad range of psychometrics and 360 degree feedback instruments.

The areas I typically work in are:

Executive Coaching

Executive Coaching

As a coach I help senior leaders uncover their blindspots and support shifts in behaviour and thinking. Each assignment is very different, but some of the scenarios that crop up include leaders needing to:

  • Get clarity on issues that are important
  • Improve their capability to deal with conflict or stakeholders
  • Clarify their strategic thinking around a topic
  • Execute a strategy more effectively
  • Improve their work – life balance

Each coaching process is unique and so time is spent creating clear outcomes and measures of success for the coaching programme.

Transition coaching

Transition coaching

Many transitions happen: taking a new role, moving from one function to a different one, moving in to a new company or simply returning to work after a break. Each of these comes with new challenges:

  • Building strong and effective relationships
  • Formulating at pace plans and then executing them
  • Raising visibility and influence across the organisation
  • Building a high performing team to deliver expectations
  • Manage stress and overload effectively

My transition coaching work is typically carried out over 100 days and may include psychometrics and “style” instruments.

Psychometric & 360 Feedback

Psychometric & 360 Feedback

Assessments provide a great opportunity for leaders to raise their bar. The areas I tend to work on are:

  • Emotional Intelligence: Our capacity to understand and manage our own emotions, as well as recognise those of others and interact with them
  • Style / Type: How we come across to others, thus enabling us to enhance our communication style to get better results when collaborating
  • Leadership 360s: Getting powerful feedback from others to make shifts in leadership behaviours
  • Team assessments: Enabling teams to get clarity on how they are and can raise performance

My work in this space can be a one-off feedback and coaching session or a series of sessions to support personal and professional change.

Team Coaching

Team coaching

Through my work I enable teams to bond and perform to higher levels. This is due to my work in creating:

  • Improved alignment: Knowing where they are going and why
  • Enhanced coordination: Clearer roles and responsibilities
  • Greater cohesion: A stronger commitment to each other and their task
  • Raised effectiveness: Ensuring synergies really come out in the team
  • Better stakeholder relations: Clarity of the constellation and how to work with them

I use a range of tools and techniques to team coach including assessments and visual templates. I also draw on my experience as a Certified Professional Facilitator in my team coaching work.

Fast Coach

Compact Coaching

Coaching is not a quick fix solution to deep professional issues, but coaching can help people find simple and easy to implement ideas to create a shift in ways of working with more common, everyday issues. In my work over the last 10 years as coach, I have seen them following topics “pop up” time and time again: Procrastination, Time management, Stress management, Work – life balance, Conflictive relationship, Presenting to senior leaders or clients, Managing performance of a team member, Leading virtually, Influencing others and Managing upwards.

Compact coaching includes a topic focused self assessment done at the start and prior to the last session, a two hour coaching session and two thirty follow up sessions, as well as ten follow up emails with appropriate resources all within a ten week period.
